Shintaro Tay (b. 1996) is a photojournalist with The Straits Times. He strives to shine a light on social issues that affect the everyday man. In 2016, he directed Saving Sungei, a documentary that made its World Premiere at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival. In 2022, he was selected for the thirty-fifth edition of the Eddie Adams Workshop in Jeffersonville, New York. Shintaro graduated with the highest distinction from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, NTU.

He melds journalism, photography and documentary-making to create compelling visual packages to get people thinking.
